Eric M. Baumgartner Named Assistant AD for NCAA Compliance

Clemson, SC–Eric Baumgartner, most recently Director of NCAA Compliance at Jacksonville University, has been named assistant athletic director for NCAA Compliance at Clemson University. Baumgartner will report to Becky Bowman, who has been promoted to Associate Athletic Director for NCAA Compliance. Athletic Director Bobby Robinson made the announcements on Thursday.

Baumgartner had been Director of Compliance at Jacksonville University since August of 1997. During his career at Jacksonville he worked with 20 different varsity sports programs in NCAA compliance education. Prior to that he was an assistant athletic director at Agnes Scott College.

Baumgartner earned his master’s degree in sports administration from Georgia State University in 1997. He earned his undergraduate degree from Virginia Tech in exercise science in May of 1995.

Bowman just finished her second year in charge of Clemson’s NCAA Compliance program. Prior to that she had worked at the NCAA for seven years.
