Career Development


Career development within Clemson Athletics is an integral part of the journey each student-athlete is encouraged to embark on during their time as a student-athlete at Clemson University. As a department, the focus of programming is to enhance the career readiness of student-athletes through work experience, consistent mentorship and a curriculum centered upon professional development.

UPIC Internships

Beyond The Game

Beyond The Game is a semester-long program that is a partnership with Clemson University’s UPIC office and Clemson Student-Athlete Development to place Clemson student-athletes in internship positions within Clemson Athletics and other University departments. Interns are compensated at $10 an hour and will work for approximately 160 hours during the program (10-12 hours per week). In addition to working within a department, interns will participate in a structured, cohort-based, professional development curriculum. This curriculum will focus on building one’s professional competence with the purpose of creating prepared professionals upon program completion.
