CLEMSON, SC – The Clemson women’s diving team will compete in their final road meet of the season on Saturday at 1:00 PM ET when they travel to Arkansas. It will be the first head-to-head matchup between the Tigers and the Razorbacks in women’s diving.
The Tigers enter Saturday’s meet with a 7-1 record in dual meets this season, including having won three straight. In its last outing, Clemson took down College of Charleston and Western Kentucky in its first home meet of 2014.
In that event, three more Tigers qualified for NCAA Zones this season. Sophomore Megan Helwagen and freshmen Sarah Braun and Danielle Reitsma each earned bids to NCAA Zones. In addition, Emily Howard and Chelsea Uranaka recorded qualifying scores for NCAA Zones but had previously qualified this year.
Helwagen won the one-meter event with a season-high 271.20 in that meet. Braun and Reistma both had strong outings highlighted by their one-two finish in the platform event to each qualify for zones. Reitsma recorded a score of 229.50 in her first collegiate meet while Braun totaled a platform season-high of 226.15.
Five Tigers have already qualified for NCAA Zones in at least one event this season. Howard is the only Tiger to qualify in two events with qualifying scores in both the one-meter and three-meter events. Uranaka is the other qualifier in the three-meter event while Braun, Reitsma and Resler each recorded qualifying scores in the platform event.
Following Saturday’s meet, Clemson will have two straight home meets to conclude the regular season. The Tigers will host College of Charleston for the second time this season on February 1 and James Madison on February 8.
