CLEMSON, SC – The Clemson women’s diving team will compete in Greensboro, NC against UNC Wilmington on Tuesday at 9:00 AM and rival South Carolina on Wednesday at 1:30 PM. The two meets will be last of the 2013 calendar year for the Tigers.
The Tigers will take on both UNC Wilmington and South Carolina for the first time as a diving only program. The Tigers last win over the Gamecocks on the women’s side came in 2009 with Clemson taking the meet 155-145.
Senior Emily Howard leads the Tigers with the top two scores in the one-meter this season and the second-best score in the three-meter. Chelsea Uranaka leads the team with the highest three-meter score this season, which also ranks as the highest three-meter score at an invitational in school history. Both Howard and Uranaka have qualified for NCAA Zones in the three-meter event while Howard has also earned a bid in the one-meter.
Megan Helwagen and Juliana Melchionda also have top-five scores this season. Jessica Resler recorded the highest platform score of the year, a school-record 210.20, in the team’s last meet at the Georgia Tech Invitational.
