Diving Hands Out End-of-Season Awards

The Clemson women’s diving team bestowed honors upon several student-athletes at a postseason awards ceremony on Tuesday night. Head Coach Leslie Hasselbach Adams presented the awards for individual performances throughout the season and overall excellence.

“I am very pleased with the overall progress of our women’s diving program this season,” Hasselbach Adams said. “The foundation for our continued future success has been built. It was fun to celebrate all of the accomplishments of our young ladies after the completion of our first season.  These 12 ladies have made NCAA history, after the completion of our full season, as being the only standalone women’s diving program in the country.  I am extremely proud of our team and I am looking forward to the 2013-14 season.”

Awards were given to Elizabeth Tatum (one-meter), Chelsea Uranaka (three-meter), and Jessica Resler (platform) for having the highest individual scores in each event for the Tigers this season. In addition, Emily Howard received the Coleman Most Valuable Diver Award for 2012-13, and Megan Helwagen was named the Dwight Rookie of the Year for the season.
