Diving Finishes Strong at Georgia Tech and Pittsburgh Invitationals on Sunday

CLEMSON, SC – The Clemson women’s diving team concluded action at the Georgia Tech and Pittsburgh Invitationals competing in the platform event on Sunday. The Tigers concluded each meet by competing in the platform event for the first time this season.

Megan Helwagen led all Tigers at the Pittsburgh Invitational finishing seventh with a 207.05, a career-high in the platform. Sarah Braun, competing in the platform for the first time in her career, finished ninth with a score of 197.05. Emily Howard finished 12th in the event with a 181.10 score.

In Atlanta, all three Tigers competing in the platform event finished in the top 10 to end the Georgia Tech Invitational. Jessica Resler led the way with a platform career-high of 210.20 to finish fifth overall. Jessica Doolittle finished sixth with a career-high 199.55 and Emily Yoder finished seventh scoring a 171.50.

Overall for the weekend, five Tigers advanced to the finals in the one-meter and three-meter combined. Chelsea Uranaka qualified for NCAA Zones in the three-meter event with a score of 291.30 to finish fifth in that event. Juliana Melchionda and Emily Howard tied for the highest finish by a Tiger on the weekend coming in third in three-meter and one-meter, respectively.

The Tigers will return to action on December 15 when they travel to Greensboro, NC take on UNC Wilmington in their final meet of the calendar year.
