KNOXVILLE, Tn.–The Clemson men’s and women’s diving teams began the 2011 portion of their respective schedules with the three-day Tennessee Diving Invitational in Knoxville, TN. The event began on Monday and ended on Wednesday afternoon.
The most consistent performer for the Tigers throughout the week was junior Brooke George. On Monday, she finished in 19th place in the women’s three-meter event with a score of 238.60, the best posted by a Tiger diver in the invitational. Sophomore Elizabeth Tatum and freshman Emily Howard also earned top-30 scores in the three-meter.
On Tuesday, George completed the women’s one-meter event with a score of 219.00, which was good enough for 20th place at the prestigious invite. Junior Cassie Self and Tatum were also top-30 finishers in the one-meter.
On Wednesday, the Tigers got a solid performance from Self in platform diving. The junior finished in 10th place with a total score of 222.70, her highest score of the season in platform. Tatum also bested her previous season high and finished in the top 30, along with George.
Patrick Chamberlain led the Clemson men’s program in Knoxville. He brought in scores of 176.95 in the three-meter and 165.30 in the one-meter.
The Clemson swimming and diving teams will be in action on Thursday, as they travel to Chapel Hill, NC for a meet with North Carolina and Kentucky.
