Clemson, SC – May 2009 graduate Danielle Hepburn has decided to stay in Clemson as a Volunteer Assistant Coach for the volleyball team. Hepburn recently polished off one of the most productive seasons in Clemson history, earning All-America honors and becoming Clemson’s second ever ACC Player of the Year.
“We are thrilled that things worked out that enabled Danielle to join us for this season,” said head coach Jolene Jordan Hoover. “She will be a tremendous asset for our younger middles and I am sure that they will enjoy working with her. She has a wealth of knowledge to share with them and we are of course excited that such a decorated alum will be joining our staff!”
Hepburn, who played from 2005-2008, holds eight school records, including most total blocks, career hitting percentage, and career blocks per set. The Miami, FL native will help with the development of some of her own replacements, as the Tigers strive for their third consecutive NCAA tournament berth.
A season ago, Hepburn led the Tigers to the second round of the NCAA tournament and a third-place finish in the ACC. In her junior season, the Tigers won the ACC Championship, going a remarkable 21-1 within league play.
