Sept. 13, 2006
I would like to express my appreciation to the ACC, and particularly the NCAA, in assisting Ray Ray and his brother, Fahmarr. The Conference and the NCAA have been tremendous in expediting the process to provide assistance. And, we’re very grateful. Also, within a very reasonable time frame, we will announce how individuals may contribute to the Trust that will be set up for Fahmarr’s assistance.
I want to emphasize the exceptional work by Stephanie Ellison, who is our Assistant Athletic Director for Compliance. Stephanie put in a lot of hours crafting the appeal for the NCAA to review. She worked hand-in-glove with the conference office. She is to be commended.
And finally, as a point of emphasis, from the start, the staff at the NCAA was extremely sensitive and supportive about Ray Ray’s and Fahmarr’s situation. They contacted us as soon as they heard of the situation to provide direction on how to proceed. I would like to express my deepest appreciation to the staff at the NCAA.
In Solid Orange, Terry Don Phillips Athletic Director
