CU Soon: Volleyball Inks OH Alberts

CLEMSON, S.C. – Clemson head coach Michaela Franklin announced the addition of Ashtynne Alberts to the Tigers’ incoming 2018 recruiting class Thursday.

“Ashtynne had an exciting recruiting process here at Clemson,” said Franklin. “Normally, we evaluate someone’s on-court ability first and then get to know them as a person.  Ashtynne was the opposite.  Our staff got to know Ashtynne as a person and quickly learned how she fit with our program’s philosophy of Championship Behavior.  What I enjoyed learning most about Ashtynne through her recruiting process is she has patience and persistence, which is a unique combination that is difficult to have and rare to find.”

Alberts is a 5-11 outside hitter from Omaha, Nebraska. Alberts attended Marian High School, where she was a three-time Class-A State Champion. Alberts was named an All-State Honorable Mention selection in 2016 and 2017. In 2017, she was named to the All-Metro Academic Team. At the club level, Alberts played for Nebraska Juniors, which is coached by Gina Chambers.

“Ashytnne will provide us with depth in our outside hitter position and help enhance our competitive culture.  She comes from an athletic background that has helped her understand the commitment it takes to be a successful collegiate athlete.”

Alberts plans on majoring in Business Administration.
