CTN Announces New Radio Affiliates

Clemson, SC – The Clemson Tiger Network has announced a 3 year agreement has been reached with WESC-FM in Greenville to broadcast Clemson football and Tiger Calls with Tommy Bowden beginning this season.

The agreement with WESC-FM,92.5, which possesses one of the most powerful signals in the state, is one of a number of new agreements the network is announcing.

After a one year absence, WCCP-FM, 104.9, in Clemson returns to the network this fall. The all sports station will carry all programming, including men’s and women’s basketball and baseball.

The network also announced the addition of WRNN-FM, 99.5 in Myrtle Beach filling a void along the Grand Strand which existed last season. WRNN-FM will carry football and men’s basketball as well as Tiger Calls.

Also, added to the network is WJMX, 970, in Florence, a traditional news/talk station. WJMX will carry football and men’s basketball as well as Tiger Calls.

WSC, 730, in Charleston has agreed to a 3 year deal which calls for the station to carry football, men’s basketball and selected baseball games in addition to Tiger Calls. Also, in addition to WZMJ-FM in Columbia, Sportsradio 1400 has been added to the Clemson Tiger Network. The agreement with Sportsradio gives Clemson tremendous seven day a week visibility in Columbia.

Also, the network announced the extension of its existing agreement with WAGI-FM, 105.3 in Gaffney, a 100,000 watt FM station which gives Clemson tremedous coverage not only throughout upstate South Carolina but into Charlotte and the entire western part of North Carolina. The extension is for the next four years.

In addition, the network is currently in negotiations with an FM station in Sumter, which will be solidified in the next weeks. The Sumter market was not served by the network last year.

Don Williams, general manager of the Clemson Tiger Network said, ” We are pleased with the response we have received from radio stations across South Carolina. They have been eager to work with us, and recognize that Clemson University is a great institution with which to be associated. We are all excited about the direction the schools athletic programs are heading.”

The network is also finalizing plans to return Tommy Bowden and Larry Shyatt’s TV shows to midday on Sunday across the state, and expects to have exciting news in the near future about cable television partnerships with several key systems in the state.
