CLEMSON, S.C. — Clemson’s cross country team will compete in the Atlantic Coast Conference Cross County Championships on Friday, October 29. The women’s championship is set for a 10:10 a.m. start, followed by the men’s championship at 11 a.m. The ACC Network plans live coverage of both meets, beginning with the Packer and Durham morning show originating live from the Championships site from 7-10 a.m.
Clemson will look to improve upon last season’s performance when the Tigers finished 11th in the men’s race and 13th on the women’s side. Head Coach Vicky Pounds is confident her team is ready to put its best foot forward.
“I know this team is ready to give its all on Friday. They’re a strong, resilient group and I’m excited for them to have the chance to compete against the best runners this conference has to offer.”
Two ACC teams are ranked nationally in the top-30 on the men’s side (Notre Dame, Florida State), while the conference boasts five (NC State, Florida State, UNC, Syracuse, Notre Dame) top-30 women’s teams, including the No. 2 ranked NC State Wolfpack.
The men’s team is led by Samuel Garringer and freshman Sawyer Dagan, who has notched two top finishes for the Tigers in his first season. The women will look to Andrea Foster, Leah Disher and Josie Wirtz to lead them.
