RALEIGH, N.C. – The Clemson cross country teams competed in the Atlantic Coast Conference Championships held Saturday morning. The women’s team finished eighth with 253 points while the men’s team posted a sixth place showing with 180 points. Duke captured the men’s title with 39 points and NC State claimed the women’s title with 43 points.
David Adams led Clemson’s all-freshman team with a 13th place finish and a time of 25:40.5. Joe Harris was 35th (26:47.4) while Ryan Fenton placed 37th with a time of 26:52.1. Travis Alexander was 46th for the Tigers with a time of 27:38.0 and Mike Barton was 49th in 27:47.6. Brantlee Milner finished 53rd with a time of 28:39.9 while Nick Luden was 60th with a time of 29:36.4.
The women’s team was paced by seniors Erika Van Reenen and Jennifer Meador. Van Reenen finished 33rd with a time of 19:34.4 while Meador was 49th with a time of 20:20.7. Perry Fields was 53rd in 20:31.4 and Renee Keydoszius placed 57th with a time of 20:57.0. Heather Nichols and Kristi Toothman were 61st and 62nd with times of 21:50.3 and 22:12.9 respectively.
The Tigers will compete at the Southeastern Regionals in Greenville, S.C., on Nov. 11.
