Cross Country Competes at Virginia

CLEMSON, S.C. — The men’s and women’s cross country teams competed at the Panorama Farms Invitational today at the University of Virginia. The women’s team finished in eighth place, while the men were 12th. The Cavaliers took first in both races.

Evie Tate, who finished 31st overall with a solid 6K time of 22:28.28, led the Tiger women’s attack Friday. It was the first time Tate led the Tigers individually in her ninth career competition in a Clemson uniform. Grace Barnett was the team’s No. 2 performer, clocking a time of 22:48.48 in a 43rd-place effort. Rounding out the scoring were Catherine Herring in 49th (23:00.15), Alexa Womack in 56th (23:16.54) and Brianna Feerst in 67th (23:43.46).

On the men’s side, the Tigers were without top performer Aaron Ramirez due to rest. In his place, Roland Hakes led the way in 49th place with an 8K time of 25:19.70. James Dwyer was just two spots behind in 25:24.38. The final scorers for the Tigers were Chris Cummings in 62nd (25:49.31), Josh Davis in 74th (26:07.43) and Clayton Wilson in 78th (26:11.34).

The Tigers return to action Saturday, Oct. 4 at the Greater Louisville Classic in Kentucky.
