CLEMSON, S.C. — The Clemson track and field team saw great success on the first day of the Virginia Tech Doc Hale Elite Meet, as a couple of Tigers won events, including freshman thrower Daniel Cope who threw himself onto the top of the Clemson all-time leaderboard in the weight throw with a toss of 21.04 meters. Since arriving at Clemson in the spring, Cope has quickly made a name for himself, and now he rests firmly in Clemson throws history for the foreseeable future. Several other impressive marks were set by Tigers on Friday, as Saturday shapes up to bring further excitement and success in the team’s penultimate meet of the regular season.
