JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — On the first day of competition at the NCAA East Regional Prelims meet, six Tigers earned seven total entries in the national quarterfinals. Ethan Cocco secured a trip to Austin, Texas for Nationals with a mammoth personal best in the javelin, while Wanya McCoy advanced to quarterfinals in both the 100 and 200 meter dashes. The Clemson men will have nine entries in the quarterfinals on Friday including the seven that earned their spot today and the 4×100 meter and 4×400 meter relays.
Action in the women’s meet will begin on Thursday at 10 a.m. with the hammer throw. The Tigers have 12 entries on the women’s side, nine of which will compete on Thursday.
