Katy Nahm

Position: Assistant Coach

Katy Nahm joined the Tigers coaching staff prior to the 2023-24 season. Nahm has brought a wealth of experience and a strong record of success; her leadership and expertise have already significantly impacted the program as she helped lead the Tigers to ACC finals and a historic run in the NCAAs as a quarterfinalist.

In her first season at Clemson, the team had an outstanding season, finishing fifth in the nation. Clemson posted a record 130-34-2 head-to-head against its opponents, achieving a .794 winning percentage, the best in Clemson history. Nahm’s coaching expertise contributed significantly to the team’s development and success, helping players enhance their performance and achieve remarkable results.

Before joining Clemson, Nahm spent over a decade at the University of Kansas, where she played a crucial role in the development and success of the program. While at Kansas, the Jayhawks won six tournaments and had 22 top-five finishes and 43 top-10 finishes. Under Nahm’s development, six Jayhawks improved their stroke averages, helping the team earn a trip to the 2013-14 NCAA Regionals and Nationals for the second time in school history. The best player she coached at Kansas was Yupaporn Kawinpakorn, who was ranked 14th in WAGR and was an Honorable Mention All-American. Kawinpakorn won five events during her senior year as a Jayhawk.

Before her tenure at Kansas, Nahm spent two years as the Director of College Placement and Instructor at the Hank Haney International Junior Golf Academy in Hilton Head, South Carolina. Nahm was responsible for instructing and coaching postgraduate students, assisting them with college placement and recruitment, and setting up practice plans and goals for each player. She has a passion for teaching and helping players improve their games.

Throughout her career, Nahm has been recognized for her contributions to the sport. She is a member of the WGCA Mentorship Group and the Women’s Mentorship Group at Kansas Athletics and has volunteered on the Green’s Committee with Lawrence Country Club and with Positive Bright Star to raise money for children’s education for students with special needs. She has also coached at the University of Arkansas Junior Golf Camp and served as a caddie at prestigious tournaments such as the US Women’s Amateur and LPGA Q-school.

During her playing career, Nahm competed at Coastal Carolina and was a three-time All-Big South selection and the league’s freshman of the year in 2004. In her sophomore season, the Lady Chanticleers won the conference team title, and she was the individual runner-up. Nahm was also a four-time All-American Scholar, a two-time All-Big South Academic selection, and played in a school-record 127 rounds.

The Nichols, South Carolina native graduated with a degree in marketing from Coastal Carolina in 2007 and earned her master’s in business administration from Coastal Carolina in 2009.

She is married to Josh Nahm, who is the Director of Instruction at the National Golf Club of Kansas City, Missouri.
