Jason Avedesian

Jason Avedesian, Ph.D joined Clemson Athletics in November 2021 as the Director of Sports Science for Olympic Sports.

Within this role, Avedesian oversees all sports science initiatives across Clemson Olympic sports, including performance science, data analytics, research and design, and technology implementation. Avedesian also oversees the Clemson Olympic sports science internship program, consisting of a semester-long sports science curriculum. Prior Olympic sports science interns have taken positions within NCAA, MLB, and private sector organizations.

The Olympic sports science team was created to meet five main initiatives:

1. Enhance student-athlete health and well-being
2. Foster performance team collaborations for student-athlete monitoring and education
3. Maximize proficiency and efficiency in technology usage and sports science analytics across Clemson Olympic Sports
4. Conduct and publish peer-reviewed scientific research
5. Develop strong and lasting partnerships between Clemson athletic and academic groups
