The Tigers (12-18, 4-12 ACC) will play 12-seed Virginia Tech (14-15, 4-12 ACC) for a second consecutive game, with the winner advancing to play the No. 5 seed, Syracuse (21-8, 10-6 ACC), on Thursday at 11 a.m. Head Coach Audra Smith will be available on the ACC Pre-Tournament Teleconference on Monday previewing the matchup. Clemson and Virginia Tech tied for 12th in the league standings, but Tech will be the higher seed by virtue of a head-to-head victory in the teams’ lone meeting. The opening round contest will be broadcast regionally on RSN. The Tigers have been off since a 74-48 loss in Blacksburg on Thursday. This will mark the second straight season that Clemson will have played an opponent in the final game of the regular season and in the first game of the conference tournament. Virginia Tech played Sunday, a 87-48 loss to Maryland. This will be the first time the teams have met at a neutral site in the series history, which is tied at 8-8 all-time.
