The Tigers close the regular season with a 12-18 overall record and 4-12 ledger in conference play. Clemson will await seeding for the ACC Tournament, which will be announced Sunday evening. The Tournament commences on Mar. 5 in Greensboro, NC at the Greensboro Coliseum. Each of the other 14 teams in the league play their final contests on Sunday. The Tigers cut a 14-point Tech lead down to nine on Kelly Gramlich’s 63rd three-pointer of the season with 15:07 left. However, the Tigers went the next 11-plus minutes without a field goal, a 23-3 Hokie run, before Quinyotta Pettaway hit a layup with 4:33 left. Tech would lead by as many as 29 in the second half in closing out the Tigers. For the second consecutive game, the Tigers struggled to clear the defensive glass, with Virginia Tech grabbing 14 offensive rebounds to the tune of 15 second chance points. The Tigers did not record a second chance point on just six offensive boards. Nikki Dixon led Clemson with 13 points (3-8 FG, 7-9 FT) off the bench, while Chancie Dunn finished with ten on 5-14 from the floor. Chelsea Lindsay had nine points and four assists in 38 minutes as well. Virginia Tech’s Uju Ugoka led all players with 23 points and 11 rebounds, and the Hokies hit 7-14 from behind the arc.
