Clemson, SC – Senior guard Lakeia Stokes was named First Team All-ACC as announced by the Associated Press today. The Covington, GA native finished third in the voting.
Stokes is the only player in the ACC to be ranked in the top 10 in the following statistical categories: scoring (16.8 ppg), rebounding (6.9 rpg), assists (99), blocked shots (25) and steals (66).
Clemson players have received First Team All-ACC honors nine times under Head Coach Jim Davis and 17 times overall. Chrissy Floyd was Clemson’s most recent award winner, making the first team in 2002 and 2003.
Stokes finished the regular season leading Clemson in scoring, rebounding, assists and steals. She is on track to be the first Lady Tiger to lead her team in scoring, rebounding and assists in the same season.
Stokes and the sixth-seeded Lady Tigers will face NC State in the quarterfinals of the 27th Annual ACC Women’s Basketball Tournament in Greensboro, NC on Saturday, March 6, 2004. Tip off is slated for 6:00 PM.
