Clemson’s Padgett Named ACC Track & Field Performer-of-the-Week

Greensboro, NC – Clemson junior Travis Padgett was named ACC Performer-of-the-Week for the first week of the outdoor track & field season. It marks the second time this year the Shelby, NC product has earned the conference’s weekly honors. He was named indoor Performer-of-the-Week in December after posting an automatic qualifying time in the 60m dash.

Padgett captured the 100m dash title over the weekend at the Clemson Relays, and also led the 4x100m and 4x200m relay teams to victories. He qualified for the East Region Championships in the 100m with a time of 10.11 on Saturday, then led the 400m relay to a regional-qualifying time of 40.37.

Padgett is a five-time All-American in the sprints for Clemson and is a two-time ACC outdoor champion in the 100m dash. He and the men’s track & field team return to action this weekend in Atlanta, GA for the Yellow Jacket Invitational.
