Clemson’s Newest Addition Posts NCAA Provisional Mark at Kentucky Invitational

Lexington, KY – The Clemson women’s track & field team wrapped up competition on the first day of the Kentucky Invitational on Friday. Patricia Mamona, recently a mid-year addition to the team, made quite a debut for the Lady Tigers. The native of Lisbon, Portugal won the triple jump and posted an NCAA provisional qualifying effort.

Mamona hit a mark of 42’1.5″, which ranks fifth all-time in school history. She moved ahead of Trevi Frazier, who had an effort of 41’5″ during the 1997 indoor season. Michelle Rogers was fourth for Clemson with a season-best jump of 40’0″. Anastasia Wilson (35’11.25″) and Krystal Barringer (34’11.25″) also competed in the triple jump for the Lady Tigers.

In the pole vault, Beth Jordan cleared 11’5.75″ and finished fifth overall, while freshman Helen Kirkland was 10th overall with a clearance of 10’11.75″.

Della Clark was third overall in the 20-pound weight throw with a mark of 62’7.25″. It marked the second time in as many meets she posted an NCAA provisional qualifying mark. Rochelle Kokayko was 11th with a throw of 54’2.75″, while Catheryne Porter was 19th out of 34 competitors at 50’0.5″.
