Clemson’s Krystal Woods, Gisele Oliveira Lead Lady Tiger Track And Field Team At Georgia Tech Invitational

ATLANTA, GA – The Clemson women’s track and field team posted five regional qualifying performances at this weekend’s Georgia Tech Invitational. Krystal Woods and Gisele Oliveira led the Lady Tigers at the final regular season meet of 2005. Woods saved the best for last, as she turned in season-best and regional qualifying marks in the discus throw and javelin throw. The junior from Warminster, PA, recorded a personal-best mark of 155’3″ in the discus throw, and had another season-best effort of 144’1″ in the javelin throw. Oliveira captured the triple jump competition with a winning mark of 44’3.25″.

Other top-10 performances for the Lady Tigers were turned in by Della Clark, Randi Hinton, Silja Ulfarsdottir and Sierra Hill. Clark placed sixth among collegiate competitors in the hammer throw with her mark of 173’7″. Ulfarsdottir and Hill placed second and sixth among collegians in the 400m hurdles with times of 57.31 and 1:00.78, respectively. Hinton finished ninth among collegiate runner in the 200m with a time of 24.21.

The Clemson women’s track and field team will return to action on May 27-28 as the Lady Tigers compete at the East Region Championships.
