Clemson’s Jeannette Abbott Earns ACC Volleyball Player of the Week Honors

GREENSBORO, N.C. – Clemson’s Jeannette Abbott was named this week’s Atlantic Coast Conference Volleyball Player of the Week, after leading the Tigers to a pair of conference victories.

A product of Downers Grove, Ill., Abbott tallied 52.5 points for Clemson in wins over Wake Forest and Duke. The freshman recorded 24 kills and hit .308 in the Tigers’ come-from-behind 3-2 win over the Demon Deacons. She also notched eight digs, six block assists and two service aces in the contest. In Clemson’s 3-1 victory over the Blue Devils the next day, the outside hitter led all hitters with 22 kills, eight digs and two total blocks.

On the week, Abbott averaged 5.11 kills per game and 1.78 digs per game, while hitting .300 over nine games.
