TULSA, OKLAHOMA–Hunter Arrington advance to the third round of the 2011 ITA Men’s All-American Championships in Tulsa Oklahoma Saturday.
After a first round bye, the freshman was Spartanburg, SC defeated Milo Hauk of St. John’s 4-6, 7-6(6), 7-6(9)
Clemson’ other entries won in the first round but suffered defeats in the second round. Zachary Rigsby defeated Pedro Zanotelli of Texas San Antonio, 6-0, 6-3. In the second round, Rifat Biktyakov of Oklahoma State defeated Rigsby 6-0, 6-3.
In the first round, Zachary Rigsby of Clemson defeated Pedro Zanotelli of Texas San Antonio 6-0, 6-3. In the second round, Alen Salibasic of Drake) defeated Dominique Maden 7-5, 6-3.
“The guys were excited about starting the fall competition season today and they competed pretty well,” said Clemson Head Coach Chuck McCuen. “Dom showed a great deal of maturity being down two breaks of serve each set and fought back to win the match in the first round. Zachary played well this morning and lost a tough one in the afternoon. After a bye in the first round, Hunter battled back to beat a hot player in Milo Hauk from St. Johns 4-6, 7-6, 7-6.”
