Clemson’s Danielle Hepburn Named ACC Volleyball Player of the Week

GREENSBORO, NC – Clemson’s Danielle Hepburn, a senior middle blocker from Miami, Fla., was selected today as the Atlantic Coast Conference Volleyball Player of the Week after leading the Tigers to a pair of 3-0 wins over Virginia and Virginia Tech to take over sole possession of first place.

On Friday, Hepburn put down 13 kills on 19 attempts with no errors to help Clemson cruise to a 3-0 win over Virginia. She had five blocks in the match to go along with her .684 hitting percentage. On Saturday against Virginia Tech, she had 10 kills on 17 attempts with only three errors to hit .412 and raise her season hitting percentage to .388. Once again she had five blocks to post 1.67 blocks per set. She was largely responsible for holding Virginia to a .096 team hitting percentage and the Hokies to a .030 average. Hepburn is the league leader in blocks (1.52), ranked second in kills (3.80) and third in hitting percentage (.388). This is her seventh career ACC Player of the Week honor and her second of the season.

Clemson, 18-6 overall and 10-3 in the league, travels to Duke and Wake Forest for their final northern road trip of the season this weekend. The Tigers will face Duke on Friday night at 7 p.m. On Saturday evening, Clemson will face Wake Forest at 7 p.m.
