Clemson Women’s Track and Field To Compete In Blacksburg, VA

CLEMSON, S.C. – The Clemson women’s track and field team will compete at the Kroger Invitational Friday and Saturday in Blacksburg, VA. The meet is scheduled to start with the pentathlon 60m hurdles at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, followed by the pole vault and 60m hurdle trials at 5:00 p.m. The distance medley relay will conclude the first day’s competition at 7:45 p.m. On Saturday, the meet will continue with the high jump at 11:00 a.m., and the running events are scheduled to begin at 11:00 a.m. with the 400m dash. The 4x400m relay, slated to begin at 4:45 p.m. will conclude the meet.

Senior Jamine Moton is ranked first in the nation in the shot put and second in the weight throw by Trackwire following her first two meets of the 2001-02 season. Freshman Gisele Oliveira is ranked fifth by Trackwire, following her NCAA qualifying performance at the West Virginia Holiday Classic.

Clemson is ranked tied for eighth in the firs t Trackwire 25 poll. The Lady Tigers finished tied for third at the 2001 NCAA Indoor Championships.
