AUSTIN, TX – The Clemson women’s track and field team completed the first day of competition at the 2004 NCAA Outdoor Championships on Thursday at the Mike A. Myers Stadium on the campus of the University of Texas at Austin. The Lady Tigers’ 4x400m relay team of Silja Ulfarsdottir, Christina Smith, Jessica Cousins and Randi Hinton crossed the finish line in 3:35.48 to place 14th in the preliminaries of the event.
The Lady Tigers will resume competition on Friday with the preliminaries of the 400m hurdles and the qualifying round of the triple jump. Silja Ulfarsdottir and Christina Smith will both compete in the intermediate hurdles, while Gisele Oliveira begins her quest for a third All-America honor in the triple jump.
