Clemson Women’s Track And Field Competes At Georgia Relays

CLEMSON, S.C. – The Clemson women’s track and field team opened its 2002 outdoor season this weekend at the Georgia Relays in Athens. The Lady Tigers won the 4x100m shuttle relay, and finished second in four other events.

Clemson’s 4x100m shuttle relay team won the event with a time of 59.33, while the 4×100 relay team and 4x200m relay team finished second with times of 46.19 and 1:36.59, respectively. Clemson’s “B” 4x200m relay team finished third with a time of 1:39.66. The Lady Tigers’ 4x400m relay “A” team posted a third-place finish in 3:56.18, and the “B” team recorded a time of 4:04.15 to finish fifth. The 4x800m relay team also finished fifth with a time of 10:33.07.

Keshia Haughton posted a second-place finish with a mark of 17’10.25″/5.44m, and Keshia Haughton was 14th among collegiate competitors (31’10″/9.70m), and Joana Costa was 19th (26’10.5″/8.19m). Hudgins also finished fourth among collegiate competitors with her throw of 132’5″/40.36m. In the hammer throw, Mary Gosselin finished seventh among collegiate competitors with a mark of 124’8″/38.01m, and Hudgins was ninth (104’4″/31.81m). Elizabeth Lord finished third in the javelin throw with a mark of 102’3″/31.16m.
