Clemson Women’s Tennis Team To Open Season Against College of Charleston

CLEMSON, SC – The Clemson women’s tennis team will open its spring season on Sunday against the College of Charleston. The Tigers are scheduled to take on the Cougars at 12:00 p.m. at the Hoke Sloan Tennis Center on Clemson’s campus.

The Tigers hold a 13-1 all-time advantage over the Cougars. Last season, Clemson defeated College of Charleston by a score of 4-3 in Clemson in the Tigers’ 2002 season opener. This is the first match of the season for both the Tigers and the Cougars.

Clemson is ranked 31st in the Omni Hotels Collegiate Tennis preseason poll released by the ITA on Jan. 13. Julie Coin is ranked 23rd by the ITA in the preseason singles poll, while the Tigers’ doubles team of Coin and Laurence Jayet is ranked 42nd in the doubles poll.
