Aug. 30, 2001

CLEMSON, S.C. – The Clemson women’s cross country team will open its 2001 season Saturday at the Western Carolina Invitational in Cullowhee, NC.

The Lady Tigers return five runners from last year’s squad in Perry Fields, Renee Keydozsius, Evan Ross, Kristi Toothman and Jennifer Zawislak. Clemson newcomers Ann Cade, Tiffany Charles, Shannon Day and Laura Ann Rukat complete the 2001 team. The Lady Tigers finished eighth at the 2001 ACC Championships and 15th in the region.

“We are excited about the beginning of this season,” said head coach Marcia Fletcher Noad. “We have a lot of newcomers who could immediately contribute to the cross country squad, and we have some key returning runners in Renee Keydoszius, Kristi Toothman and Perry Fields who will most likely secure their spot in the top five.”
