ATHENS, GA – The Clemson women’s cross country team finished third at the Georgia Bulldog Stampede in Athens on Friday, Oct. 8. Georgia won the invitational with 30 points. The University of Tennessee-Chattanooga placed second with 40 points. Clemson finished third with 73 points, and Kennesaw State earned 81 points for a fourth place finish.
Kennesaw State’s Marjo Venalainen won the individual title at the meet, finishing with a time of 10:40. Jackie Seibert of Georgia placed second in 10:54, and UTC’s Shannon Wommack took third place with a time of 11:03.
Clemson’s top finisher was Lauren Saulino, who finished in 11:35 to earn eighth place. Renee Keydoszius, Kristi Toothman, and Laura Ann Rukat also placed in the top 20 for the Tigers. Keydoszius placed 12th in 11:47, Toothman took 15th place in 11:52 and Rukat posted an 18th place finish with a time of 12:04. Also for the Tigers, Evan Ross finished 25th with a time of 13:08, Tiffany Charles was 26th in 13:18 and Katrina Moultrie was 28th in 14:01.
The Clemson women’s cross country team will return to action Oct. 13 as the Tigers compete at the Pre-NCAA Meet in Greenville, SC.
