Clemson Women’s Cross Country Places 16th at Great American Cross Country Invitational

CHARLOTTE, NC – The Clemson women’s cross country team finished in 16th-place at the Great American Cross Country Invitational on Friday evening. The race was held at the Ballantyne Resort 5K course outside of Charlotte, NC. North Florida won the meet with 40 points, while Appalachian State placed second with 91 points. Bucknell was third overall with 110 points and Harding placed fourth with 123 points. Davidson College finished in fifth place, scoring 149 points. Clemson was 16th overall with 382 points.

Freshman Casey Phillips led the Lady Tigers with a 29th-place finish and a time of 21:18.0. Sophomore Laura Ann Rukat finished 30th with a time of 21:21.7. Tiger freshmen Jenny Barton and Jennifer Hooton placed 90th and 111th with times of 22:52.3 and 24:20.3, respectively. Junior Evan Ross posted a time of 25:05.2 for a 122nd-place finish, while junior Tiffany Charles finished the course in 27:06.6 for 133rd-place.

The Clemson women’s cross country team will return to action on Sat., Oct. 5 as they play host to the Clemson Invitational.
