Clemson Women’s Cross Country Finishes Sixth At Catamount Classic

CULLOWHEE, NC – The Clemson women’s cross country team competed at the Catamount Classic held Saturday and hosted by Western Carolina. The Lady Tigers finished sixth with 142 points.

Freshman Casey Phillips led the Lady Tigers with a 14th-place finish and time of 14:27 over the 4K course. It was the second consecutive top 15 finish for Phillips, as she placed 10th in the Western Carolina Invitational last weekend. Laura Ann Rukat finished 24th with a time of 14:50, and Jenny Barton was 28th in 14:56. Jennifer Hooten placed 40th with a time of 15:22, while Lauren Nicholson completed the course in 16:47 to finish 57th. Evan Ross was 58th (16:48), and Angela Thomas was 53rd with a time of 18:33.

Clemson women’s cross country will return to action at the Georgia Bulldog Stampede in Athens, GA, on Saturday, Sept. 14.
