Clemson Women’s Cross Country Finishes Sixth At Bulldog Stampede

ATHENS, GA – The Clemson women’s cross country team finished in sixth place at the Bulldog Stampede held Saturday and hosted by the University of Georgia. South Florida won the meet with 45 points, followed by Georgia Tech with 76 points. Tulsa, Ashland and UNC Greensboro finished third (77 points), fourth (112 points) and fifth (145 points), respectively. The Lady Tigers placed sixth with 196 points, while South Carolina State finished seventh with 261 points.

The Lady Tigers were led by freshman Casey Phillips, who finished in 31st-place with a time of 20:33 in the 5K run. Sophomore Laura Ann Rukat finished 34th overall with a time of 20:43. Freshmen Jenny Barton and Jennifer Hooton placed 45th and 47th with times of 21:17 and 21:49, respectively. Evan Ross was 54th (23:16), Tiffany Charles was 55th (23:26) and Christina Reinhard was 57th with a time of 23:43.

The Clemson women’s cross country team will return to action at the Great American Cross Country Festival in Charlotte, NC, on Sept. 27.
