Clemson Wins Exhibition Women’s Basketball Game 68-44 over Berry College

Clemson’s women’s basketball team won its only exhibition game of the season 68-44 over Berry College on Sunday in Littlejohn Coliseum. Thirteen different Lady Tigers saw action in the contest.

The Lady Tigers had 13 blocks in the contest, including four by starting center D’Lesha Lloyd and Adrianne Bradshaw. Another newcomer, Reggie Maddox, had nine points and six assists. The Lady Tigers shot 46.9 percent for the game.

For Berry College, Deana Duncan was the top scorer with 12 points. She was 5-9 from the field and also contributed six rebounds.

Clemson had an impressive first-half performance. The Lady Tigers outscored the Vikings 47-21 and had eight blocks by halftime. In the first half, Lloyd had eight points on 4-5 shooting.

In the second half, Jim Davis at times played five newcomers on the court at the same time. As a result, Clemson’s four freshmen all played double figures in minutes, as did junior college transfers Maddox and Tasha Phillips.

The Lady Tigers open the regular season at home on November 19 versus Western Carolina. The game will be the first of a double-header with the men’s team. The women will tip off at 5:00 PM that Friday.
