CLEMSON, SC – The Clemson men’s tennis team will play host to #15-ranked Florida State on Saturday afternoon at 1:00 p.m. at the Hoke Sloan Tennis Center on the Clemson campus. Live scoring for the match will be available on www.clemsontigers.com.
The Tigers are now 6-5 this season and 0-2 in ACC action. Clemson is ranked 68th nationally according to the latest ITA poll. Florida State is ranked 15th nationally, and have a 10-5 record overall and a 1-0 mark in league play.
This will be the 31st meeting between Clemson and Florida State on the tennis courts. Clemson leads the overall series 17-13. The series began in 1962.
The 2009 season marks the 100th year of men¹s tennis at Tigertown. Clemson first sponsored men¹s tennis in 1910 when two Tiger tennis players entered the annual state tournament. The first dual match was played in the 1921 season as the Tigers defeated Wofford 2-0 on April 28, in Spartanburg, SC.
