Clemson vs. Georgia Tech Postgame Notes
TEAM NOTES
Clemson defeated Georgia Tech 63-55 on Saturday to give the Tigers a 17-9 overall record, 8-6 in ACC games.
It was Clemson’s fourth ACC road win this season, only the fifth time in 61 seasons in the conference the program has won at least four road games.
Clemson swept Georgia Tech for the fourth consecutive regular season. It was the 11
th
sweep for the Tigers over the Yellow Jackets, one shy of Clemson’s record mark of 12 over Virginia.
The Tigers have won nine straight games over Georgia Tech, their most as a program over another ACC school since 11 consecutive wins over Virginia from 1960-64.
Clemson won its fourth straight game at Georgia Tech, the most consecutive road wins for the program over another ACC school since winning five in a row at Virginia between 1960 and 1965.
The Tigers overcame their fifth halftime deficit to win this season, the most in a season since the 2007-08 team also overcame five. Clemson’s record is six by the 1989-90 team.
Clemson won points in the paint, 34-20. The Tigers are 11-1 this season when winning the statistic.
INDIVIDUAL NOTES
K.J. McDaniels
reached double figures for the 23
rd
time in 26 games this season.
McDaniels led the Tigers with 16 points and added a career-high tying four steals.
McDaniels blocked two shots Saturday, his eighth straight game with multiple blocks.
Damarcus Harrison
posted 15 points Saturday, giving him back to back double digit scoring performances for only the second time this season. It was the first time he went double figures back to back since the first two games of 2013-14.
Harrison went 3-for-4 from three Saturday, his most made threes in a game since also making three against Davidson on Nov. 22. It was the fifth time he made at least three in a single game.
Landry Nnoko
posted 13 points to match his career-high against SC State. It set his career-high against an ACC team, surpassing the 12 he had at North Carolina.
Nnoko tied a career-high with five made field goals.
Rod Hall
tallied six assists against no turnovers in 30 minutes of play Saturday. It was his first game without a turnover since the VMI game on Dec. 30.
