Clemson Volleyball Wins a Pair on Saturday

CLEMSON, SC – The Clemson Volleyball team closed its spring season with a pair of victories in a Saturday tournament held at Jervey Gymnasium. Clemson defeated Winthrop, 3-2 (25-16, 25-20, 21-25, 20-25, 15-3) in the first match and took down Charlotte, 3-0 (25-21, 25-16, 25-20) in the second.

Freshmen played a significant role in both matches. Against Winthrop, Lacy Hayes had 46 assists and led the Tigers to a spring-high .323 hitting pct.

For the second straight match, Clemson won the first two sets, dropped the second two, and took the fifth set. In this case, it was a lopsided 15-3 win.

Against charlotte, Yaz again led Clemson with 13 kills, while Sandra Adeleye added 11. Hayes had 23 assists in the match.

The Tigers closed the spring with three straight wins, including the 3-2 win over Furman on Wednesday, April 7.
