Clemson Volleyball To Travel To Furman

CLEMSON, S.C. — The Clemson volleyball team (9-13 overall, 4-6 ACC) will travel to Greenville, SC, to play the Furman Paladins. Match time is set for 7:00 p.m.

Clemson has never lost to the Paladins since the teams first met in 1977. The Tigers are 27-0 against Furman and defeated the Paladins 15-0, 15-4, 15-2 last year at Jervey Gym.

The Paladins are 10-12 overall and 9-2 in Southern Conference play. Laura Hooks leads Furman in assists with 893 (10.63 apg) and in digs with 236 while Shawn Beckham is the team’s blocking leader with 69 total blocks (17 solo). Abby Simon leads the Paladins with 240 kills and Carrie Rowley has a team-best 27 service aces. Furman has won seven of its last eight matches, including back-to-back wins over UNC Greensboro and the College of Charleston.

Jodi Steffes leads the Tigers in total kills (311) with a 4.26 kills per game average. Kirtland leads the Tigers in digs with 254 while Steffes leads in digs per game (3.34). Jessi Betcher is the assist leader with 856 assists this season (11.41 assists per game). Betcher also leads the team in aces per game with a 0.32 per game average (24 total). Jackie Dalleska has a team-best 0.92 blocks per game average (57 total).
