Clemson Volleyball To Take On Fifth-Ranked Georgia Tech On Tuesday

CLEMSON, SC – The Clemson volleyball team will play host to fifth-ranked Georgia Tech Tuesday, Oct. 14 in Jervey Gym. The first serve is slated for 7:00 p.m. Admission is free to all home volleyball matches in Jervey Gym.

The Tigers enter Tuesday’s match with a 12-9 overall record and a 2-4 mark in conference action, after falling to Duke 3-0 and Wake Forest 3-2 over the weekend. Clemson boasts a 27-13 all-time record against the Yellow Jackets and holds a 13-5 record in Jervey Gym. The 1999 season marks the last time the Tigers defeated a ranked opponent, as Clemson defeated then-ranked 25th North Carolina.

Junior Leslie Finn leads the Tigers with 334 kills and a 4.34 kills per game average. Finn is third on the team in digs with 202 and has recorded 22 service aces. Junior Lori Ashton has tallied 268 kills with a team-best .282 hitting percentage and leads the team at the net with 97 total blocks (37 solo) and a 1.23 blocks per game average. Red-shirt junior Ryane Beasley has 222 kills with 88 blocks (19 solo), while freshman Liz Beckham has tallied 216 kills with 207 digs. Senior Lindsey Abbott has a team-best 300 digs with 3.85 digs per game average, and sophomore Carly Hill has served up a team-high 24 aces. Junior Stephanie Haskell has handed out 690 assists with a 10.30 assists per game average and 138 digs.

Georgia Tech is 18-0 overall and 6-0 in league play after sweeping Wake Forest and Duke over the weekend. Lynette Moster leads the team with 260 kills and a 4.48 kills per game average. She has a team-best 25 service aces and is second on the team in digs with 168. Lauren Sauer has posted 247 kills with a .369 hitting percentage, while Alexandra Preiss has tallied 205 kills with a .431 hitting percentage. Preiss is the Yellow Jackets’ top blocker with 71 total blocks (seven solo) and a 1.20 blocks per game average. Marisa Aston has a team-high 196 digs, and Kele Eveland has handed out 803 assists with a 14.87 assists per game average.
