Clemson Volleyball Set to Host NC State, North Carolina

Weekend Match Notes

CLEMSON, SC – The Clemson volleyball team will return to action this week as they take on NC State on Friday at 6:00 pm and North Carolina at 6:00 pm on Saturday. Both matches will take place in Jervey Gymnasium and are free to the public.

Any fan who shows their football ticket on Saturday will be entered into a drawing to win a Best Buy gift card. Livestats will be available at Clemsontigers.com, and both matches will be available on TigerCast.

Friday vs. N.C. State | Saturday vs. North Carolina

Clemson (11-7, 2-5 ACC) holds a 35-17 all-time advantage over NC State (12-7, 2-5 ACC), including winning each of the last 24 matches played. However, the Wolfpack are in the midst of their best season since 1999.

The Tar Heels (15-5, 6-1 ACC) are out to a strong start in league play. They currently boast an RPI of #17, and received votes in the most recent AVCA Coaches Poll. They rank in the top 15 nationally in kills, assists, and digs per set.

Clemson ranks ninth in the nation with a 2.88 blocks per set average and is holding opponents to a .176 hitting percentage on the season, the fourth-best mark in the ACC. Alexa Rand leads the ACC in blocking as well, with a 1.46 per set average.

Offensively, the Tigers are led by 2010 All-ACC selection Sandra Adeleye, who is averaging 3.10 kills per set and 1.07 blocks per set, and is hitting at a .301 clip. Serenat Yaz is averaging 2.90 kills per set, and has recorded six double-doubles in the last seven matches. She is averaging 3.34 digs per set, second best on the team.
