Clemson Volleyball Senior Setter Jessi Betcher Sets Clemson All-Time Assists Record

CLEMSON, S.C. – Clemson volleyball senior setter Jessi Betcher set Clemson’s all-time assists record Saturday morning at the Clemson Invitational Tournament. She tallied 64 assists against Coastal Carolina and added 50 assists in the tournament finale against Texas Christian University. For her career, Betcher has 4,362 assists with an 11.82 assists per game average, another all-time best in Clemson history. The previous assists record was held by Michelle Thieke-Young who recorded 4,305 assists from 1994-97. As a freshman, Betcher recorded 1,431 assists, then tallied 1,298 as a sophomore and 1,027 as a junior. This season, she has added 606 assists to her career total. Betcher was the 1999 ACC Rookie of the Year as well as the AVCA District III Rookie of the Year.

Betcher was named the Most Valuable Performer at this weekend’s Clemson Invitational after leading Clemson to its 10th-consecutive home victory and a 3-0 mark over the weekend.
