CLEMSON, SC – The Clemson volleyball team is listed #1 in the East Region in the latest RichKern.com/AVCA Division I Regional Computer Index. The Tigers boast a 16-2 overall record and are winners of their last 12 matches. The team is also atop the ACC standings with a 9-0 conference record.
Overall, Clemson is 27th in the nation. The Tigers will be back in action on Friday night as they play host to Boston College. They will then welcome Maryland to Jervey Gym on Saturday.
The RichKern.com/AVCA Division I Regional Computer Index takes into consideration the Rich Kern Percentage Index (RKPI) of all NCAA Division I teams, then computes each region based on the overall ranking. The RKPI mimics the NCAA RPI published once during the season and once at the end of the season. The full RKPI can be found at http://www.richkern.com/vb/rankings/RKPIShow.asp.This index is not associated with the official NCAA Division I Regional Rankings, but is provided to give schools input as to how they may be ranked within the region using a computerized formula similar to the NCAA. Teams are placed into regions based on the latest NCAA on-line database. Rich Kern, who runs the RichKern.com web site, was the 2002 AVCA Grant Burger Media Award recipient for his media and promotional contributions to the sport of volleyball.
