Clemson Volleyball Player Named To All-Region Team

Clemson, SC – Clemson volleyball player Jodi Steffes was named to the 2000 AVCA Division I All-East Region team. The Tigers (13-18, 6-10 ACC) finished the season at the ACC Tournament with a 0-3 loss to Maryland.

Steffes, a junior right side hitter from Elwood, IL, has been named to the all-region team each of her three years at Clemson. She was named the ACC Rookie of the Year in 1998, and garnered all-freshman team honors as well as being an AVCA all-district selection. In 1999, she was once again named to the all-district team after being named to the All-ACC second team. This season, Steffes was once again a member of the All-ACC second team and also picked up two all-tournament team honors.

Steffes led the Tigers in kills (465), kills per game (4.31), hitting percentage (.310), digs (350) and total blocks (77) during the 2000 season. She is tied for ninth on the all-time “most kills” list with 1,037 and is tenth all-time in block assists with 222. Her 3.03 kills per game average places her sixth all-time and her 3.04 digs per game average is third-best.
