Clemson Volleyball Falls 3-1 to Duke on Senior Night

Clemson wrapped up its 2004 home season with a 3-1 defeat at the hands of Duke (25-30, 27-30, 30-27, 30-32). The win improved Duke to 17-9, 8-6 in the conference. The Tigers fell to 17-12, 6-8 in the ACC with the loss.

Leslie Finn became Clemson’s all-time leader in career kills after she totaled 28 in the match. The senior needed 23 to break Robin Kibben’s record, and she did so early in the fourth game. Finn also had 20 digs, giving her the first 20-20 of her career. She is only the 10th Tiger ever to record a 20-20.

Lori Ashton had 20 kills for the Tigers, while Anna Vallinch had a match-high 32 digs. The Tigers had 12.0 team blocks in the match, including seven solos. Finn and Ashton both had two solos.

For Duke, two Blue Devils topped the 20-kill mark. Tealle Hunkus had 22 kills to go along with 16 digs. Tassy Rufai also had 21 kills. The Blue Devils had 11.0 team blocks, including 18 assists.

The Tigers play again next weekend, traveling to Maryland and Virginia to conclude the regular season.
