CLEMSON, S.C. – The Clemson women’s rowing team is set to race in Raleigh, N.C. at the Lake Wheeler Invitational on Friday and Saturday. The Lake Wheeler Invite is co-hosted by Duke and UNC. On Friday, Clemson’s 1V8+ and 2V8+ will go head to head with Miami and host Duke, who is ranked No. 17 in the latest CRCA/US Rowing Coaches Poll, at 2:30 p.m. and 3:06 p.m. respectively. The 1V4+ will race side by side UCF and Michigan State at 4:06 p.m., while the 3V8+ will dual race Duke’s ‘A’ entry at 4:18 p.m. The 2v4+ wraps up Friday’s racing slate at 5:06 p.m. when they go against UCF and Navy.

The field includes four ACC teams, Clemson, Duke, Miami and UNC, as well as teams from the BIG 10, Patriot League and American Athletic Conferences. Teams will race in a heat on Friday, a semi on Saturday morning and then their respective finals later Saturday morning.

Official results will be available on Regatta Timing and fans can follow along with live results on @ClemsonRowing and @WheelerInvite on Twitter.

“We’re excited to get back to racing this weekend after facing some freak weather conditions at the Clemson Invitational that prevented most of our boats from racing. The Lake Wheeler Sprints will give us a good chance to see how we’re doing in terms of speed against other ACC crews Miami, Duke and UNC. We’ll also be able to race against teams that we don’t usually get to race from other conferences.”

Last weekend at the Clemson Invitational, we celebrated our five seniors: Rebekah, Julia, Isla, Erin and Rachel.
