Clemson Track & Field to Host Tiger Invitational on Saturday

Clemson, SC – The Clemson track & field program will play host to its final home meet of the 2009 indoor season on Saturday, the Tiger Invitational. The meet will begin at 9:00 AM with the women’s 60m hurdles and 20-pound weight throw. The first men’s event will be the 60m hurdles at 9:10 AM.

With the ACC Indoor Championships next week, Clemson will elect to rest the majority of its student-athletes. The Tigers already have automatic NCAA qualifiers in Jacoby Ford (60m dash) and Liane Weber (pentathlon). Clemson also has 15 provisional NCAA qualifiers between its two squads.

The women’s team will have a trio of entries in the mile run at 9:50 AM, led by senior David Krinjak is listed for the second section of the 800m run at 11:35 AM. Also in action from the distance groups is freshman Brannon Sulka, who will run the women’s 3000m at 12:25 PM. The women’s pole vault will feature three Clemson athletes at 10:30 AM. Kathleen Majester, who ranks 10th in school history with a clearance of 11’4.5″ at last week’s Tiger Paw Invitational, is one of the three entries. Alex Padgett and Stephen White will hope for improved marks in the 35-pound weight throw at 11:00 AM. Other field event athletes in action will be Scott Pauga (high jump) and John Oberg (pole vault).
