Clemson Track & Field Sweeps Weekly ACC Honors

CLEMSON, SC – Dezerea Bryant and Brunson Miller made it a clean sweep of the Atlantic Coast Conference Track & Field Performer of the Week awards, announced Tuesday by the league office. Both earned the honor for the first time in the 2012-13 season, dating to indoor season as well.

Bryant opened her sophomore outdoor campaign with a win in the 200 dash and also helped the 4×100 group to victory at the FSU Relays last weekend. She posted a time of 23.76 to top the field of 56 sprinters in the 200 dash, a time that puts her No. 12 on the national performance list early in the season. Clemson’s 4×1 – which consisted of Stormy Kendrick, Marlena Wesh, Bryant and Brianna Rollins – rolled to a winning time of 43.95, currently third-best in the NCAA.

Miller bested the field of 42 competitors in claiming the FSU Relays title in the 400 dash. He ran a personal outdoor best with a time of 46.24, No. 8 in the Clemson record books. His time currently is atop the national leaderboard in the event. Miller also ran third leg with the Tigers’ 4×100 relay, a unit that compiled a time of 39.84 to win at Florida State.  The time is currently No. 3 in the nation as well. Miller was joined on the 4×1 by Reggie Lewis, Warren Fraser and Tevin Hester.
